Update of International World's Challenge Challenge 2018

A team of three students from Business Administration and Government and Public Administration at CUHK joined 15 student teams from eight countries to compete in the International World’s Challenge Challenge hosted by Western University in Canada from June 3 to 8, 2018. The competition aims to help students develop their academic, oral presentation, and entrepreneurial skills, all while encouraging them to take action on global issues and challenges. CUHK’s team consisting of Edward, Lydia (Government and Public Administration) and Anthea (Business Administration), presented their G-Phone proposal, which aims at recycling second hand digital devices such as smartphones and tablets and increasing digital literacy rate in less developed countries. By cooperating with various NGOs and social enterprises, the team aims to provide upcycled and upgraded educational gadgets for those who are not receiving qualified education. Not only would the project benefit the less developed countries, but also provide solution to environmental pollution caused by digital devices.
